At one point in their bout, Christian ran out into the WWE Universe to avoid an angry Viper who was in hot pursuit. But, when the two finally collided in the ring toward the end of the tag team battle, it was the World Champion who reigned supreme. When R-Truth fell victim to an RKO, Christian seized the moment and dropped Orton with the Killswitch for the win. Is it a sign of things to come when the two bitter rivals meet at SummerSlam? Mark HenryMark Henry def. Vladimir Kozlov (WATCH |PHOTOS)
Mark Henry came right out of the gate with a powerful offense and never looked back. After downing Vladimir Kozlov with The World’s Strongest Slam for the win, he wrapped Kozlov’s leg in a steel chair and dropped his massive frame on his helpless victim. Then from out of nowhere, Sheamus charged the ring, looking to take a swipe at Henry with a steel chair. But Henry quickly avoided a strike and then stared down his SummerSlam opponent from outside the ring. Then in a familiar scene, Kozlov was removed from the ring on a stretcher. Later, Sheamus talked about facing Henry at Summer Slam (WATCH | Exclusive Sheamus interview | SummerSlam preview).
Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson def. Zack Ryder (WATCH | PHOTOS)

Attempting to make his mark on Friday nights, Zack Ryder addressed the WWE Universe about his new support role to Long. When Rhodes and DiBiase joined in the discussion, Teddy put an end to all of the talk and pit Ryder in a match against Jackson.
Daniel Bryan def. Tyson Kidd (WATCH | PHOTOS)

Raw results: Executive decision August 1, 2011

INDIANAPOLIS — In his first days as WWE’s Chief Operating Officer, Triple H was faced with one of the most complex problems in the company’s storied history — who is the real WWE Champion? Is it CM Punk — the Superstar who beat John Cena for the title at WWE Money in the Bank before leaving the company, only to return a week later with the championship in hand? Or is it Cena — the man who defeated Rey Mysterio for the WWE Title on the same night the masked Superstar won a tournament for the supposedly vacant championship? After considering both cases for some time, The Game finally hit upon a vital fact — the most important choices aren’t made in a boardroom, they’re decided in the ring.
Triple H resolved the WWE Championship situation(WATCH | PHOTOS)
For the first time in WWE history, there are two legitimate WWE Champions, but which man is the real title holder? That was the question Triple H tangled with tonight as John Cena and CM Punk pressed the COO for a decision.
It was a tough judgment for The Game, but before he could reveal his solution, he was interrupted by WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis. A longtime associate of Mr. McMahon, the executive made his feelings on the matter clear — strip John Cena of the title.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Laurinaitis’ words brought an irate John Cena forth. Verbally berating the executive, The Champ claimed Laurinaitis wanted him stripped of the title, because Cena laid him out at WWE Money in the Bank. Cena then threatened to harm Mr. Laurinaitis again, leading the VP to leave the ring as fast as his feet could carry him.
Now alone with Cena, Triple H informed The Champ that he would not strip him of the WWE Championship. Hearing that, CM Punk immediately hit the ring, prepared to state his case to the COO.
As the two champions began to argue, The Game laid it out like this — at SummerSlam, John Cena and CM Punk will meet in the first ever WWE Champion vs. WWE Champion Match. The Superstar that walks away victorious will be the Undisputed WWE Champion. End of story.
Alberto Del Rio brutalizes Evan Bourne on Raw.Alberto Del Rio def. Evan Bourne (WATCHPHOTOS)
He has enormous wealth, fancy cars and the Money in the Bank briefcase, but Alberto Del Rio still operates like a man with something to prove. Why else would The Mexican Aristocrat apply a bone snapping armbar to Evan Bourne long after he defeated the high-flyer in the ring? Looking to send a message to the locker room, the arrogant Superstar nearly broke Bourne’s arm until Kofi Kingston stormed the ring and chased Del Rio — and his lackey Ricardo Rodriguez — out of the arena.
WWE Tag Team Champions David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty def. Santino Marella & Zack Ryder (WATCH | PHOTOS)
A week after internet sensation Zack Ryder was handpicked by Triple H to put Michael Cole in his place on Raw, Long Island Iced-Z took a few lumps of his own. Rallying against David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty early in the bout, Ryder eventually lost the contest for his team, bringing an abrupt end to his winning streak. Woe. Woe. Woe. You know it.
Alex Riley confronted United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero (WATCH |PHOTOS)
Tonight, Alex Riley gave Dolph Ziggler some invaluable career advice whether the bleached blond wanted it or not. In the middle of another one of Vickie Guerrero’s annoying rants about the presumed greatness of the United States Champion, A-Ry thankfully interrupted and announced that Ziggler had spent too much time hiding behind the loudmouthed lady and needed to prove himself on his own.
Infuriated, Ziggler nearly attacked Riley, but slid out of the ring instead and stormed away with Vickie by his side.
The Miz & R-Truth def. Rey Mysterio & John Morrison (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After spending three months on the sidelines due to a brutal attack from R-Truth, John Morrison was finally able to face his rival in the ring tonight, but he didn’t come alone. Teaming with Rey Mysterio — the Superstar who beat The Miz for the vacant WWE Title before losing it to John Cena last Monday night — JoMo showed little sign of ring rust, but he still wasn’t ready for his underhanded opponents. Losing to Truth, Morrison then fell victim to both The Awesome One’s Skull Crushing Finale and a water bottle to the side of the head from the conspiracy-obsessed Superstar.
Things between Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix get personal on Raw.Beth Phoenix won a No. 1 Contender’sDiva Battle Royal (WATCH | PHOTOS)
She’s long been touted as WWE’s most powerful Diva, so the WWE Universe was not surprised when Beth Phoenix triumphed over the ladies of Raw and SmackDown to earn a Divas Title Match against Kelly Kelly at SummerSlam. It’s what happened next that shocked everyone.
Entering the ring to congratulate the winner, the Divas Champion gave Beth a big hug in a refreshing moment of good sportsmanship. In return, The Glamazon unexpectedly attacked the beautiful competitor, brutally tossing her out of the ring before shouting, “Your days as the perky, cute, little bimbo are over!”
Clearly, things between these two Divas just got personal.
Triple H and a re-signed CM Punk exchanged heated words (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 |PHOTOS)
Following last week’s scandalous return to WWE, the always contentious CM Punk kicked off tonight’s Raw by inciting more controversy. Stating that he re-signed with WWE because he wanted to bring about change, The Straight Edge Superstar proclaimed himself the one and only WWE Champion, which drew out WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H. Taking issue with the arrogant Superstar’s words, The Game said he re-signed Punk because it was good for business even though he personally found him smug and overrated. As tensions mounted between the two, Triple H made it clear that both Punk and John Cena are legitimate champions to which the overconfident Punk shot back that there can only be one title holder. The Game did not debate this point and promised to rectify the situation tonight.

R-Truth def. Randy Orton by Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
When the observing World Heavyweight Champion Christian jumped up on the ring apron to disrupt SmackDown’s main event, R-Truth used the distraction to hit Randy Orton with a water bottle. This infuriated WWE’s Apex Predator, who attacked his opponent with a chair and forced the referee to call for the bell.
Despite the fact that he had lost the match by disqualification, The Viper sent a powerful message to both R-Truth and his lurking SummerSlam opponent. After hitting R-Truth with a monitor, Orton blasted him with an RKO onto the announce table, not once but twice.
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Ezekiel Jackson showed the courage and determination of a true Intercontinental Champion, taking on both Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase – at the urging of the newly appointed Assistant to the SmackDown Manager, Zack Ryder (watch). But, when The Personification of Domination slammed his shoulder into the steel ring post, the bitter Rhodes took advantage, triumphing over his prey with the Cross Rhodes.
WWE Tag Team Champions Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga def. The Usos in a WWE Tag Team Championship Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Despite the fact that The Usos scored a non-title match victory over McGillicutty & Otunga on "WWE Superstars," they failed to overcome the WWE Tag Team Champions when the titles were on the line. With McGillicutty in trouble, Otunga threw a war torn Jimmy Uso into the ring. This distracted the referee long enough for Otunga to hurl the legal man Jey Uso off the top rope, paving the way for the recovering McGillicutty to hit Jey with the neckbreaker for the three-count.
Sheamus picked a fight with Mark Henry(WATCH | PHOTOS)
With no Superstars apparently willing to take on the destructive Mark Henry, Zack Ryder – SmackDown GM Theodore Long’s new Assistant – promised to get him an opponent (watch). This ultimately came in the form of a local athlete, half Henry’s size.
Decimating his outmatched foe, The World’s Strongest Man opted to continue his assault after the bell. Moments after Teddy Long rushed to the ring to try and stop the madness, Sheamus emerged. Provoking the furious Henry to charge toward him with a humiliating slap, Sheamus dropped the rope at the last moment, sending the subject of his ridicule crashing to the ringside floor. The massive Superstar tried to get back in the ring, but was promptly stopped by the chair-wielding Irish brawler.
Alicia Fox, Tamina & Rosa Mendes def. Natalya, Kaitlyn & A.J. (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After Alicia Fox avoided an aerial attack from SmackDown’s “spitfire” AJ, the dangerous Diva executed a brutal scissors kick for the win. But, which of WWE’s battling beauties will reign supreme this Monday on Raw when the Divas of WWE compete in a Battle Royal to determine the No. 1 contender to Kelly Kelly’s Divas Championship?
Daniel Bryan puts Wade Barrett in the LeBell Lock (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Making it clear that he came to the United States and WWE to make money, Wade Barrett said that he is returning to basics, proclaiming that greed is overrated. However, when he began to bad mouth Daniel Bryan, Mr. Money in the Bank took exception. Barrett struck the determined Superstar and began to berate him. But, Bryan quickly turned the tables, cinching in the LeBell Lock on the English grappler.
World Heavyweight Champion Christian def. John Morrison (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With his neck still clearly not 100 percent, John Morrison came to SmackDown to battle Christian. However, seconds after avoiding The Guru of Greatness’ Starship Pain, the World Heavyweight Champion took advantage of his foe’s lingering injury. Catapulting Morrison’s neck off the top rope, the crafty champion claimed victory with the Killswitch.
Zack Ryder appointed Assistant to the SmackDown GM (WATCH)
Shortly after addressing the WWE Universe, COO Triple H decided to appoint Zack Ryder as the new Assistant to SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long.
New Chief Operating Officer Triple H laid down the law on SmackDown (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Following his first State of the WWE Address on Monday Night Raw, Triple H journeyed to SmackDown. He immediately addressed the WWE Championship situation on Raw, acknowledging that Punk has been re-signed and that there are, in fact, two WWE Champions – The Second City Saint and John Cena. He vowed to make a decision on how to handle this problem this Monday night on Raw.
World Heavyweight Champion Christian interrupted Triple H, assuming the new man in charge would want to establish “a closer, working relationship” with him. However, taking the interruption as “a slap in the face,” Triple H declared that Christian will put his title on the line at SummerSlam against Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred Match (match preview).
Soon after Raw Superstar R-Truth interrupted as well – proclaiming himself a “man of action” – Triple H decided to provide some for both he and Christian. To the delight of the WWE Universe, he decreed that R-Truth would face Randy Orton and Christian would take on John Morrison.
